Despite doubts from quantum physicists: Einstein's theory of relativity reaffirmed
//www.koonmotors.com/releases/2023/07/230713141952.htm
One of the most basic assumptions of fundamental physics is that the different properties of mass -- weight, inertia and gravitation -- always remain the same in relation to each other. Although all measurements to date confirm the equivalence principle, quantum theory postulates that there should be a violation. This inconsistency between Einstein's gravitational theory and modern quantum theory is the reason why ever more precise tests of the equivalence principle are particularly important. A team has now succeeded in proving with 100 times greater accuracy that passive and active gravitational mass are always equivalent -- regardless of the particular composition of the respective masses.

Einstein and Euler put to the test at the edge of the Universe
//www.koonmotors.com/releases/2023/06/230622120924.htm
The cosmos is a unique laboratory for testing the laws of physics, in particular those of Euler and Einstein. Euler described the movements of celestial objects, while Einstein described the way in which celestial objects distort the Universe. Since the discovery of dark matter and the acceleration of the Universe's expansion, the validity of their equations has been put to the test: are they capable of explaining these mysterious phenomena? A team has developed the first method to find out. It considers a never-before-used measure: time distortion.

Curved spacetime in a quantum simulator
//www.koonmotors.com/releases/2023/05/230517122129.htm
The connection between quantum physics and the theory of relativity is extremely hard to study. But now, scientists have set up a model system, which can help: Quantum particles can be tuned in such a way that the results can be translated into information about other systems, which are much harder to observe. This kind of 'quantum simulator' works very well and can lead to new insights about the nature of relativity and quantum physics.

Researchers have now been able to find an answer to this mystery with the aid of a COLTRIMS reaction microscope: The emission takes place lightning fast, namely within just a few attoseconds.

Quantum vacuum: Less than zero energy
//www.koonmotors.com/releases/2019/10/191002102750.htm
According to quantum physics, energy can be 'borrowed' -- at least for some time. Energies lower than zero are possible, much like a bank account that can be overdrawn. There are, however, certain restrictions to that. Scientists have now shown that these restrictions are very fundamental properties of our universe and must be true for various possible quantum theories.

The magic wavelength of cadmium
//www.koonmotors.com/releases/2019/09/190916101858.htm
Researchers experimentally determined a property of cadmium called the magic wavelength which is considered essential for the development of the most accurate clocks ever envisaged. The researchers hope this may permit simple and robust atomic clocks so accurate they could be used to improve our understanding of current theories and even test for new physics.

Scientists detect the ringing of a newborn black hole for the first time
//www.koonmotors.com/releases/2019/09/190911121948.htm
Physicists have 'heard' the ringing of an infant black hole for the first time, and found that the pattern of this ringing does, in fact, predict the black hole's mass and spin -- more evidence that Einstein was right all along.

Physicists mash quantum and gravity and find time, but not as we know it
//www.koonmotors.com/releases/2019/08/190826122010.htm
Researchers say they have discovered 'a new kind of quantum time order'. The discovery arose from an experiment the team designed to bring together elements of the two big -- but contradictory -- physics theories developed in the past century.
